RCR adds more solar projects to its order book

RCR adds more solar projects to its order book

Engineering and infrastructure company RCR Tomlinson has signed an agreement with RES Australia to develop an EPC contract for a planned 80MW solar farm near Emerald in central Queensland.

The company also announced today that it had been awarded a $28 million contract with Solar Powerstations Victoria for the 19MWdc Swan Hill Solar Farm in Victoria.

RCR managing director and chief executive officer Paul Dalgleish said these large-scale solar projects would add to RCR’s substantial order book and position it as the market leader in the solar sector.

“Our growing capability, resources and equipment gives RCR even greater leverage to remain the foremost contractor in the solar market,” he said. “The market for large-scale renewable energy projects in Australia continues to grow and the pipeline of new projects is expanding rapidly.

“We see renewable energy as a long-term major sector for the Australian market and one which we will always play a significant role.”

The company’s solar projects include a $199 million solar farm at Townsville’s Sun Metals zinc refinery and the 110MW Darling Downs solar farm.

RCR Tomlinson has also been awarded two contracts, totalling about $50 million, to design and construct the Longreach Solar Farm and the first phase of the Oakey Solar Farm.
