Shutdown crew raise funds for CareFlight

A fundraising BBQ during the recent major overhaul of CS Energy’s Kogan Creek Power Station, near Chinchilla, has helped raise $6000 for RACQ CareFlight Rescue.

Kogan Creek Power Station general manager Phil Matha handed over a cheque for the donation at RACQ CareFlight’s Toowoomba base today.

The funds raised included $1200 donated by the overhaul workforce, with CS Energy and the three major overhaul contractors – MHPS, Siemens and Australian Laboratory Services – each chipping in matching donations of $1200 to take the total to $6000.

The $68 million maintenance shutdown of Kogan Creek Power Station was completed this month and the power station is back online.

Mr Matha said CS Energy held the fundraising BBQ to thank the overhaul workforce for their efforts and provide an opportunity to give something back to the local community.

“We selected CareFlight as the beneficiary from the fundraising BBQ because of the lifesaving medical evacuation service they provide local regional communities,” Mr Matha said.
